2022 Constitution Day Dinner

Each year, the Massachusetts chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates hosts a dinner for all members and guests in recognition of Constitution Day. This year's Constitution Day Dinner took place on September 20, 2022 at the Union Club of Boston.

Dana A. Zakarian, President of MassABOTA, welcomed everyone who gathered on a beautiful fall evening in Boston. Christopher A. Duggan, National Representative, made introductory remarks about who Robert Morris Sr. was and explained why an award for Courage in Litigation was named after him.

Mr. Zakarian was honored to present the 2021 Robert Morris Sr. Award for Courage in Litigation to the family of Christopher P. Kauders, posthumously. "Chris worked for over 25 years as a mediator and arbitrator with cool headedness and patience. Apart from being an excellent lawyer, Chris was a life-long advocate for the blindness community - serving on boards like the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton, and always displayed unique courage in fighting for the rights of others. He embodied all of the principles that ABOTA stands for – civility, compassion, honor, and fought for the preservation of the right to a jury trial. I can't think of a more deserving person for this award."
